Broussard’s Centre is hosting an advance planning seminar to help educate Beaumont Seniors and their families in how to prepare for the unexpected. The seminar is free to Beaumont Seniors (all Southeast Texas seniors and their families are welcome) and will feature experts in estate law, senior safety, and final expenses.

This Southeast Texas senior seminar will be held on Thursday, October 10^th at Broussard’s Centre’, located at 1775 Calder, Beaumont. 

There are two sessions so Beaumont senior citizens and their families can choose one that is ideal for their schedules: 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.

The Southeast Texas senior seminar will feature local attorney at law, Randy Drewett, certified Elder Law Attorney, speaking on legal tools like wills, health care directives, powers of attorney, and why they are essential for every Southeast Texas family to have in place, no matter the size of their estate. He will also discuss trusts and if they may be right for you and your family.

Bill Davis, 36-year veteran of the Beaumont Police Department, will discuss common security concerns and tips for Beaumont senior safety. Using his tips, Southeast Texas seniors can  stay – and feel- safe while in our homes, while out shopping, or while driving. He will cover a few practical rules of thumb that he has gleaned in his time with the Beaumont police department that should help ensure Beaumont senior safety.

Finally, Leon Stone, a funeral prearrangement specialist, will discuss how to plan ahead for Southeast Texas funeral wishes so that loved ones don’t have to worry about what to do in an emergency. Planning ahead can assist the families of Beaumont area seniors know their loved ones wishes are carried out exactly.

Statistics show that close to 70% of adults have not taken care of one or more of these important areas of planning.
