Relive fond memories at the South Texas State Fair.
There’s something sweetly nostalgic about the South Texas State Fair for our Southeast Texas seniors.
The sights and smells of a carnival can transport Golden Triangle seniors back across the decades to when they were teenagers cruising the South Texas State Fair with packs of school chums taking in the sites, laughing, and enjoying the temporary freedom from school and home life.
It all seems so… clear.
“They” say you can’t go back, but what do they know?
Call up a couple of friends, pile in the Buick, and hit the South Texas State Fair.
Enjoy a crawfish pistolette (hey you can always take a Lipitor later), knock over some cans with a baseball, ogle a couple of young things (you know fifty-somethings).
While the location has moved from the old Fair Grounds to Ford Park, you won’t mind not walking around mud puddles as you go from attraction to attraction– you can get to everything on nice dry sidewalks now.
